Somwhere in the middle

Songdevotion von Crystal Miller

Von Crystal Miller 17.10.2008

Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You’ll find me

Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You’re making me
Somewhere in the middle, You’ll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle

Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves

Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You’ll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You’re by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I’m caught in the middle

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." Ephesians 3:20

Since life's first breath, God destined you for great things. Through His awesome power He has already given you every good thing you will ever need, or even desire. His grace and gifts are many and come with no strings attatched. However, to fully experience the abundance He has for your life, you must be willing to open your hands and truly receive.

The time has come to let your hearts dance in the freedom of His light, and no longer dwell in fears' paralyzing shadows. When we seek Jesus with our whole hearts, He will always take us from a place of fear to trust, and He will always take us to deeper levels of intimacy with Him. Just as the song says, we sometimes limit ourselves to the shallow end, when God has so much more hidden deep within His heart.

All of life comes down to a simple choice.... Will you choose Jesus or will you choose the world? Sometimes we walk a fine line between the two, stuck somewhere in the middle. We want what the world offers, but discover it often leaves us empty and alone, in search for something more. So we give ourselves to Jesus, yet with hesitation we hold back from giving Him total control. Jesus tells us that in order to find true life, a life with purpose, we must loose ourselves in Him (Matthew 16:26). Therefore, will you trade your plans and dreams for His? Will you allow His heart to beat in yours, and see the world through His eyes?

It is difficult for the world to make sense of a life that is lived with wild passion for Jesus, but in my estimation, that is how all are designed to live; as warriors on the front lines! Yet, you are required to take the first steps toward action and leave the comfort of mediocrity and walk in your true identity of who Jesus made you to be!!
